Peace n. Freedom from disturbance; serenity.
Peace names both an inner condition and a social achievement. Personally, it can mean calm, steadiness, and relief from agitation. Collectively, it points to just order, mutual restraint, and the willingness to resolve conflict without dehumanizing one another.
Peace is not passive withdrawal; it is an active discipline. It is built in the ordinary choices people make every day: listening before reacting, refusing needless escalation, telling the truth without contempt, and choosing repair where harm has occurred. In that way, peace becomes practical and cumulative, a lived pattern that strengthens trust, steadies communities, and makes dignity more possible for everyone involved.
Peace is one of the Fruits of the Spirit, and in this framework those fruits are understood as the personal application of The Universal Laws.
"Nothing can bring you peace but yourself."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Each year on September 21, the International Day of Peace, the UN Peace Bell is rung at headquarters in New York. The bell was cast from coins and medals donated by children from many countries as a symbol of shared human hope.
Peace begins when someone sets their anger down at last,
and answers with a steadiness that breaks the cycle fast;
it grows when people listen long enough to hear what’s true,
a dialectic interface makes for a better view.
